Ludacris Helps Serena Find a Theme Song

Looking for something to get warmed up to

Recently crowned Billie Jean Cup champ, Serena Williams is teaming with Ludacris to create a theme song?  The two in conjunction with WeMix.com, an online music creation community for independent musicians have launched the Serena’s Song contest which invites songwriters, rappers and singers to create an original piece designed to inspire the sexy athlete.  The winner will be selected by the fan communities on Ludacris’ and Williams‘ official websites.

“Sports and music have such a powerful connection,” Williams said of the contest.  “I always see athletes including myself listening to music, while they’re getting ready for or decompressing after a match, or a race, or a game, whichever the sport.”

Dos Un and I were debating this the other day when watching the Billie Jean Cup.  Why did she come out to Nelly‘s what 2002 song “Number 1″?  I get the reference but isn’t her man a more popping artist than Nelly these days?  Begs the question why she needs to scour the universe to find a theme song when her boyfriend could conjure something up right quick.
