Santigold Live On Late Night W/ Jimmy Fallon
With her S1w Public Enemy-esque Dancers
While Jimmy Fallon did very little in my mind on his second day to look less nervous, scripted and dare I say wack he did close the show with a performance by Santigold (who was Santogold as of two weeks ago.)
While I didn’t get the whole military dancing chicks thing, it did remind me of a present day version of Professor Griff‘s S1w’s from Public Enemy. I’m not sure if that was the look she was going for. I guess I’m alone though because my friends on Twitter who like me tuned in to watch yet again said they loved it. To each his own.

She had to change it legally cause of some joker from the 80′s with that(Santo Gold) moniker. He broke. Youtube it, you’ll find some funny and/or odd stuff.

Very not funny. Tina Fey was looking at him last night while he was doing that “chair” joke like “Dude…what are you doing. I’m going to be passing around your resume in 2 weeks time if you don’t stop making a fool of yourself.”

Ya know what’s cool? Just a few years ago, an artist like Santi would’ve gotten the bum’s rush, but this stuff is goofy, quirky, whatever you want to call it. It’s not necesserily original, because there have been other acts that display that certain ammount of likeable strangeness. It’s admirable to see her doing what she’s doing.

Santigold came with the wack performance. Was there anyone on the show that night that wasn’t overly nervous. Fallon is a lame and extremely weird. Maybe he’ll get into a groove though. I remember when Conan first started people were hating because he wasn’t David Letterman but now he’s worshiped as a comic genius. On a side note, remember that song Fallon dropped a while back? It actually made it to the top of MTV’s countdowns. Which just shows you how brite those viewers are …
Fallon’s show is definately lame but I’m really trying to like it because of the Roots.
i ddnt kno of her until about 3 months ago. this chick had her on her webpage. i heard one of her songs n was immediately taken! it was bangin! different! so i looked her up and been listenin to her since! i like her music! oh, and fallon been lame 4 years! new host!
