JHud Tells Oprah ‘I’m just glad to be back…I’m in a very good place.”

Posted by Juan

First real comments since her family tragedy

On Friday Jennifer Hudson told Oprah Winfrey that she’s doing “really good” following her family tragedy last fall.

The two did not speak specifically about the murders of her mother, brother and nephew during the singer’s brief interview before her performance.  She did however share a little about her mindset following a few tough months.

“I’m good,” she said. “I’m really good. I’m just glad to be back and be back to working and just doing what I love to do…I’m in a very good place.”

Hudson says she owes her renewed spirit to a string of steady performances including singing the National Anthem at this year’s Superbowl and being presented the Grammy for “Best R&B album” by  Whitney Houston which she described as “almost surpassed winning” the award itself.

“As soon as she stepped out on the stage, I lost it. That’s when I got emotional.”

Look for Hudson and Robin Thicke on tour this spring at an arena near you.
