Watching Black History: Black American Cowboy Strives for Recognition

At the Black American West Museum in Denver, Colorado, cowboy Paul Stewart is doing his part to chronicle and preserve the contributions African Americans have made to settling the western U.S.

Most people don’t know that there were black cowboys. Yeh, many of us saw Posse but that film is often dismissed as Hollywood make belief. In reality there were many black cowboys and they played a large role in settling the West. Check out this clip about Paul Stewart who started a museum in Denver dedicated to preserving the history of the black cowboy.
