Jazmine Strikes out at the Grammys But Scores Big on a Movie Role
Singer books role in Tuskegee Airmen flick
Although R&B freshman, Jasmine Sullivan wasn’t able to enjoy the Grammy night she had hoped for drawing a goose egg, 0 for 5, she is apparently unbowed and is moving forward with her career in music as well as…acting.
According to Billboard, the Philadelphia songstress has reportedly landed a major role in director Anthony Hemingway’s “Red Tails.”
“I play a singer who entertains soldiers,” says Sullivan, who will appear in the movie alongside current touring partner Ne-Yo. “I’m really just entertainment for them, but I kind of get a little relationship going with one of them. So that’s very exciting.”
“I used to act when I was younger, in little plays,” adds Sullivan, who attended Philadelphia’s Creative and Performing Arts high school. “It never was really a passion of mine. It’s just something I did and I could do. Anything where I can be creative, I like to do.”
The movie isn’t scheduled to begin shooting in April so in the meantime while deciding on a fourth single from her debut album “Fearless,” Sullivan has also been working on a rumored TV project. Details are sketchy at his point. More on that as they become available.

I like Jazmine. She’s very talented and I think the role is perfect for her, she has that classic beauty
This is her first acting gig though. She could be terrible.
yeah, but judging by her videos and her live performances she sure can get into character. Be honest she didn’t worry you a little when she performed “Bust Your Windows” live?
I haven’t seen her live. The big screen is a whole other beast but I feel your point.
good for her, get that check
Although, she is talented. The new role may prove bigger than she is. But let’s hope she can pull it off. It seems to be a perfect fit for her. And getting into films isn’t easy to begin with. So, we can applaud her there.
