Highbrid Nation Remembers ‘BIG L’

Posted by Juan

Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974 – February 15, 1999)

Big L

Can you believe its been 10 years since we lost the most underrated emcee of all time and one of the best that ever did it.

Big L was shot and killed only a couple of blocks from his home in Harlem by Gerard Woodley, a childhood friend of Big L.

While L was alive he gave us some of the sharpest, wittiest one liners and punchlines ever spit.  While the former D.I.T.C. member never was ever able to break into the mainstream perhaps that was his genius.  He always kept it lyrical and true to the culture.  L we love you man. Sorry for being a day late. For all you youngins that still think Lil Wayne is nice check this out.

Put It On

MVP

One of his most infamous Freestyles

Oh and if you think you’re an emcee, check yourself against this. You might want to put in your 2 weeks after listening.
