We can all be a Jackson

Posted by Munika

When will women ever learn?

I don’t want to elaborate on this topic because it makes my flesh crawl to think how this generation is so self-destructive. Tattoos, ouch, piercing the tongue or face period was hard for me to fathom. Botox! Now breast implants, omg, the leaking. Is hip-hop making women that self-conscious? Recently, Usher’s wife suffered cardiac arrest during a cosmetic operation. Call me wrong (I love you Usher), why didn’t Usher say , baby your my wife and no one needs to be satisfied by your looks but me, don’t change. I love Kanye too so I won’t go there, but please uplift black women this year and every year. Fashion is a trend, don’t let someone else determine your self image.  Be your motivation for your 2009 look. Damn, Please refer to my Hairitage blog for motivation. All I know is I love myself, flaws and all. Happy Valentines weekend to me, and you.

maybe I could lose a lil’ off the gut and gain more in the cup but nothing a lil’ suffication and bra stuffing can’t handle.

  2. I hear you. I’m all about fixing what is possible by using the right products that can be sold over the counter or lifting a certain amount of weight. Going under the knife is something that I still don’t understand. It makes little to no sense to me. It is a clear indication of one’s self-esteem, self-acceptance, confidence and all that other stuff that amounts to a weak personality and comfort within one’s self. Now, we all need to step back and realize the beauty we poses inside and realize our future and lead the way.

This is all easier said than done. So much pressure is placed on women and how they look it is hard to keep up. Slim was the thing now having a big butt is ok, but you have to have a slim waist and flat stomach.

Yes women need to take pride in themselves as a whole. Love yourself indeed, but unfortunately looks is a big thing and some people will take the short cut to try and achieve a certain look.

FYI I am not an advocate of elective plastic surgery at all but do understand how many women may feel the need to have it.
