Scores a perfect 10.00 on the start currency index

Will Smith

While surprisingly snubbed from last week’s list of top earning African American stars, Will Smith has redeemed his good name by topping Forbes Magazine’s list of Hollywood’s most bankable stars according to a survey of movie industry professionals.

Using some cockamamie “star currency” index the actor received a perfect 10 according to data collected by the survey.  Forbes surveyed more than 150 entertainment industry professionals, including producers and directors. The stars were ranked on ability to attract financing for a project, box office success, appeal to different audience demographics and other factors.

Rounding out the top five was  Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie and Brad PittDenzel Washington came in at #8.

Smith’s rating was reportedly so high because he can be cast in a role for any movie genre.

“He can move from doing the pop film to an ‘Ali’ to a ‘Seven Pounds’ to ‘The Pursuit of Happyness,’” said John Burman, special projects director for Forbes Media.  “He’s able to play in all worlds and I think people just like watching him on screen.”

  2. Juan says:

Yeah he’s always been a performer but you also have to take into account that his skills were honed over those years on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air”
