Watching Black History: James Meredith Remembers

The first black man to attend the University of Mississippi returns to campus for an unveiling of a civil rights memorial, and remembers the violence that awaited him there 40 years earlier

We take so many thins for granted these days. It really wasn’t that long ago that the color of your skin dictated where you could go to school, where you could eat or even where you could go to the bathroom.

The following is a video follows James Meredith, who was the first lack man to attend the University of Mississippi, as he revisits the campus today.

    Interesting how the dynamic of the campus has changed but the race relations are still high tempered.

    • yeah that was always crazy to me. But then, its Mississippi. I think the Southern states will forever be the most stubborn about things like this.
