The Roots 1st Day As House Band Of Jimmy Fallon’s Late Night

Posted by Juan

And of course Jimmy and ?uesto share via Twitter

The Roots

While we already knew The Roots were slated to become the new house band of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the actual show isn’t slated for debut until Monday, March 2.

However in the interest of trying out the show, generating some buzz, some fans and just plain doing something new NBC has started airing the show online months before the official debut.  Those who have followed it in the form of webisodes via Jimmy’s Late Night blog have mostly seen Fallon share behind the scenes footage on how the show and set are coming together.

However Tuesday, Twitter fans were tipped off to something new which was about to happen.  I first got curious when ?uestlove sent out this tweet at about 3PM.

“*cues up theme to 30 Rock* first day on the job. (wish me luck kids)”

The message referencing of course the fact that The Roots would be at NBC’s studios to begin the stint on “Late Night.” Today NBC published this video of Fallon introducing the members of the Roots and as you’ll see…he had a world of fun doing it.

Fallon is also inviting his Twitter followers to go to the “Ask Jimmy” section of his site to leave some suggested questions to ask the group which he’ll consider using when he interviews the band in a future webisode.
