Watching Black History: Barack Obama’s Speech on Race

Posted by Mike "Evorgleb" Belgrove

Barack Obama speaks about the role race has played in his presidential campaign, the criticism of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and his own perspective on the history of race relations in the United States

During Barack Obama’s campaign he made sure it was not viewed as “the black candidate” by not making race an issue in his politics. However, when video of Obama’s pastor saying some controversial things surfaced, Obama was forced to deal with the issues of race head on.

Below is the video of the speech Barack Obama gave on race relations in the United Stated. Many people believe that this speech will be studied in history classes from this point on.
