Nas to Cameo on Dr. Dre’s ‘Detox’

Posted by Juan

Did he offend DJ Premier by calling Dre “the best producer of all time?”

Its been seven months since the release of his Grammy Award-nominated album, “Untitled” aka “Nigger” album and although Nas has been off the radar everyone knows he’s not sleeping (“cause sleep is the cousin of death.”)

The rapper recently told Billboard he’s put down a few ideas for new songs on his Blackberry and that he has “a couple of special things up my sleeve that should be unveiled in the next few weeks.” But he promises that one of the surprises “is history.”

But Nas is making the most noise these days with the news that he’s working with Dr. Dre on the Detox project.  “I did a joint. I think it’s crazy,” Nas say. “He’s someone I’d love to do a whole album with one day. He’s incredible. I think he’s the best producer of all time.”

Nas

While DJ Premier recently publicly stated that Nas needs to come back to his roots and do an album with the original production team that brought us the critically acclaimed “Illmatic” 15 years ago, Nas’ proclamation that Dre is the G.O.A.T. clearly won’t sit well with Preem. I doubt it’ll cause much of a stir but as a huge Premo fan, Nas is speaking blasphemy even if Dre comes in a close second.
