Kobe Drops 61 in a Madison Square Garden Scoring Record

Another Notch In the Belt for Kobe

On a Blustery winter night in NYC Madison Square Garden was buzzing with excitement. The NY Knicks who’ve been horrible the last few years were on a 5 game home winning streak and had won 7 of their last 9 games. In addition to that this week was being dubbed Dream Week b/c the top 3 teams in the league the Celtics, Cavaliers, and  Lakers are all visiting the Worlds Most Famous Arena Madison Square Garden this week. This was it, the week that was going to put the Knicks back on the map. Instead it quickly became the game that further solidified Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant as  this seasons lead candidate for MVP and  the best player in the world.

Kobe Stepped onto the Garden floor and torched the Knicks for 61 points, the most points scored on the MSG Floor ever. With a full house including the usual suspects in celebrity row Kobe played like he was in the Staples Center and with continous chants of “MVP” by the Garden faithful if you didn’t know any better you would think he was at home too.  Kobe was “Swishing and Dishing” (Shouts Walt Clyde) to the tune of 19-31, 3-6 from 3pt. land, and 20-20 from the free throw line. At the 1:48 mark in the 4th qtr. Kobe was pulled from the game and received the loudest and longest standing ovation I’ve ever seen an opposing player get in MSG and it was well deserved. To put this in perspective do you remember Jordans 55 in the 45 in his MSG return after his first retirement, It was that big maybe bigger. Thats for you to debate nation. (GAME BLOUSES)!

An I think Kobe nice, but I want people to stop this comparing to Jordan sh!t all the time.

Lebron James is the best player in the game and has been since last year. Lebron could drop a Century on a team if he really wanted to but he’s too good of an all-around player to do it. I would just love to see him go for it scoring wise every now and then. I’ll give Kobe credit for going for his when he’s hot.

i agree skinny, LBJ is a beast and cant be stopped. Kobe got him on the finesse thats why he is comparable to MJ because he emulates him to a tee. aint no one trump MJ yet tho but kobe can score at will on any given nite when he gets n the zone! ask toronto bout that lol
