President Obama’s First Interview Is On Arab Television

Posted by Juan

Extending his hand to the Arab world as promised

I walked in on the Al-Arabiya interview last night in the middle and I’ll admit I was rather shocked. I didn’t know he was planning to give this interview, his first formal such sit down as president to an Arab TV station.  It speaks volumes about his focus for his administration.

One of the major complaints of the McCain campaign was that President Obama would not be ready on day 1.  What we’ve seen is rather the opposite. He seems to have been more than ready and has been chomping at the bit to enact new policy with the closing of the Guantanamo Bay Torture Prison Camp.  Another complaint of the McCain team was  that he didn’t have the experience in foreign policy and affairs. This interview proves otherwise and so far both arguments have been quickly squashed although they’re no longer relevant anyway.

Although I’m clearly no expert it seems to me when you have problems with an enemy you really don’t want beef with you extend an olive branch…seems simple but isn’t that what he’s doing?

This won’t sit well with middle-America. They already think the man is muslim. Now he is sitting there with the folk that “hate america” so much. Speaking to them first out of all the “relevant” news outlets out there. You know he won’t hear the end of it.
.
My concerns with Gitmo… Where are the prisoners going? There is a lot of talk about them going back to the Middle East to continue with the terrorism that they were accused of doing. Some Senators are concerned that the prisoners will end up on US land.
.
He is doing a lot in his first week in office. I give him that. Everything is so transparent. I don’t think there will be a move that he will make that we won’t know about.

You know I don’t care. They can suck an egg as far as I’m concerned. There was a time people feared Christians for the same reason… along with a few other choice groups of a lighter hue.

I understand your concerns and there well founded. I think we have to trust that he knows more than we do until he proves he’s just like Bush…then we can not trust him. Guess what! Middle America wasn’t bombed with two jet lines, NYC was so who care what they think…True speak.
.
As for the Gitmo thing. I was thinking the same thing as well. Its not just good enough to shut down the base we need to change the methodology of how we “interview” political prisoners of war. We’re speaking of human rights violations and that doesn’t go with however many prisons we close.

My concerns with middle America have more to do with the fact that I cannot take a road trip cross country without researching which towns to avoid for fear of losing my life.

I really feel like this man STAYS 20 STEPS AHEAD of whatever people try to throw at him! He amazes me. He is not doing things for credit, or a photo-op. You can tell that every single one of his (significant)actions are carefully planned and thought about. I don’t think I’ve ever been so confident in someone’s potential as I am with our president. Feels good to be in good hand (c) All State. lol

With the mounting job casualties, here’s hoping SCOTUS either finds someone, somewhere, has standing to require BHO’s birth certificate or fixes attention on a criminal indictment before he wins his War on Prosperity.
