Join Me in Thanks Before Our Brief Month Begins

Posted by Marcus "Dos Un" Holmes

Forgive me nation wanted to get this up end of last week but its up now.  The post is more about all of you leaving a tag/comment expressing your thanks, thoughts & commentary to our ancestors and black historical icons in light of OUR recent accomplishments.  When it was official that nov. night I got mega amped as the whole world did once they announced the result.  Seconds later though I paused and sat down still smiling but thinking about the various members of my family who were raised and lived through the bullshit and had to eat it.  Then about Dr. King, Malcolm X and the icons who fought on the frontline to win our freedom.  All we have achieved is because of them and I thought damn only if they could see but then again I knew they could and were gettin’ it in, in ‘the upper rooooooooom’.  We need to say thanks and think thanks because we just took a huge step and minorities don’t have any more excuses.

They changed February to HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH? I thought THAT was from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15….

As the witnesses of history we have a very important responsibility to make sure the accomplishment remains sacred. This means stepping up and doing all in our power to make sure that this is not a fluke but a paradigm shift in the American social psyche.

No longer can we settle for second best or make the excuses of the past. We can no longer blame others for our short comings and we must now hold confident that we are to be treated as equal and when we are not we must demand it because it is now our destiny. Yes we can.
