RUMOR: Britain’s Telegraph newspaper reports that Eddie Murphy has been cast as The Riddler in the next Batman movie.

VERDICT: According to a representative for the actor, the report is baseless.

RUMOR: The tabloid claimed that Shia LaBeouf will play Robin while Rachel Weisz will play Catwoman.

VERDICT: False

RUMOR: The movie will end on a cliffhanger over whether Batman survives a blast at Wayne Towers.

VERDICT:  uh uh!

RUMOR:  Angelina Jolie to play Catwoman, Johnny Depp as the Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin.

VERDICT: Nope, nope nope.

The truth is the storyline hasn’t even been determined yet.  According to the interview published by Collider.com with president of Warner Bros., Alan Horn, the storyline is the project’s main priority right now, not the cast.

Peep the video after the jump as the president talks all things Batman and yes GREEN LANTERN!

Expect the speculation to continue as we anticipate whether the producers can strike gold yet again with their the third installment of the Batman franchise redux.

Eddie Murphy as the riddler? Horrible choice. Maybe they’ll also want to dig up Delta Burke to play catwoman.
