In a sermon delivered Sunday, our old friend and former pastor of President-Elect Barack Obama, Rev. Jeremiah Wright referred to one of his biggest critics, Elisabeth Hasselbeck of ABC’s “The View,” as “that dumb broad.”

In attempt to drum up publicity and attention for his church, the Trinity United Church of Christ’s 47th anniversary, Rev. Wright went off on one of his now infamous tirades according to the Chicago Sun-Times. In addition to placing his furry most squarely placed on Hasselbeck, Wright also expressed disappointment with his famous former congregational member.

“The hatred of the media and the haters in politics may have caused him to distance himself from us, but the love of Christ will never allow me to distance myself from him,’ Wright said of Obama. “I can no more disown him than I can disown any other child of mine who makes [a] bad decision. He made a bad decision, but he’s still my child.”

Now while I agree in some respects that Hasselbeck IS IN FACT a dumb broad obviously I wouldn’t say that under a microscope nor would I, as a member of the clergy dispell that type of vernacular from the pulpit. Clearly this is like our example with Al-Qaida’s Ayman al-Zawahri in his attempt to remain relevant by attacking the hottest topic across the globe right now, Barack Obama. Wright has clearly fallen off any relevant radar screen and in attempt to drum up some media coverage for his church’s anniversary he planned his calculated and rediculous comments. Do I fault him no…cause at the end of the day he’s right…or Wright.
