Publicist Admits He Created All Those Rihanna/Jay-Z Rumors
Remember all those rumors about how Jay-Z was cheating on Beyonce with Rihanna? They were all fabricated by a publicist.
It seemed like for a while there I was hearing something new everyday about how Jay-Z was secretly creeping with Rihanna behind Beyonce’s back. It was one of those things that we were hearing so much that we just assumed there had to be some truth behind it. Of course all the while both Jay-Z and Rihanna were both denying the accusations. Turns out there may have been no truth to the rumors after all. Recently Rihanna’s former publicist Jonathan Hay had this to say on the subject:
“Along with one of my partners, I then began to fabricate stories of Rihanna and Jay-Z, leaking false rumors to tabloids, working internet message boards, etc. We started to get an insane amount of media coverage very fast. There are so many things we did that people don’t even know about, not even Rihanna herself.”
“Like when the rumor surfaced that Jay-Z had a new love life and was cheating on Beyonce…that was just to get attention. Rihanna had nothing to do with ANY of that, nor did she know what we were doing.”
“Rihanna is one of the biggest stars in the world now, and look at how she stormed into the business!” Hay continues. “Not to take anything from her – she is a great artist – but every artist needs a launching pad and there is nothing better than a good scandal to get the public’s attention.”
So why is he coming clean with all this now? Seems like he’s got a book coming out that he’s trying to sell.
I’m all for creative ways to market but this is just messed up. Yeh he helped make Rihanna a household name but also helped make her look like a mini slut bucket.

Ok I’ve officially found someone who hates more than me.
It’s amazing how your own people are manipulating your career in one way or another. I don’t see how this rumor helped or hurt Rhianna’s career. It just shows how things are really “leaked.”
It probably helped by keeping her name in the headlines.
Rihanna needs to take out her umbrella, ella, ella, a, a.. because her former publicist is pissing on her career.

it helped both rihanna and beyonce actually. cause you notice how once the rumors started flying beyonce started sticking extra close to her man. and this was once a woman that would be seen on vaca with him and on the red carpet but would be completely hush on their relationship. then next thing you know this rumor gets started and she’s seen in texas grabbing a marriage license….lol. she came clean about her love for him once the rumors started and the minute that rihanna and chris brown became an item she married jay like him and rihanna was gonna change their minds..lmao. so although it is indeed messed up at least now rihanna is happy and beyonce is honest!

All lies, but the public ate it up and Rhianna got some publicity off of it so the publicist did their job.
Who the hell knows exactly what happened. This could be yet another publicity stunt just to drum up more press on old stories. We’re talking about it aren’t we?

I could care less to be honest with you, nor do I believe the publicist OR the parties named for denying it all this time. One thing is for damn sure though, when Rhianna first came out, for someone overseeing her “image” and career, she APPEARED as if she was being groomed to look like Beyonce with all the big gold weave, huge earrings and gaudy clothes. The time and opportunity to cheat was definately there and what rich boss HASN’T sampled his young protege? At least once?
For all we know, Jay-Z probably paid this guy to take the blame for that crap, what, because all of a sudden this guys says this, it makes it some kinda gospel to be believed? Please.
