Adidas Celebrates ’60 Years of Soles and Stripes’
Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and Hip Hop’s Adidas supporters featured in new spot
Believe it or not Run DMC did NOT invent Adidas but they are helping to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary. Along with athlete turned socialite, David Beckham. Missy Elliott, Russell Simmons, Method Man and Redman, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels is featured in a new :60 celebratory house party ad.
The commercial currently on the tube and YouTube is a celebrations of Adidas’ has branded its “60 Years Of Soles and Stripes” anniversary. According to Ad Age the apparel giant is looking to capitolize on its birthday by launching its largest marketing initiative behind the even it the company’s history. Judging from the guest list and a guestimate on the production budget you’ve gotta believe that no expense has been spared.
The ad which was created by the company’s Montreal-based ad agency, Sid Lee, features a sound track from Frankie Valli’s “Beggin” remixed by DJ Pilooski (in case you were wondering.)
Although it would have been nice to see Reverand Run in spot, given the fact he know has his own line of Run Athletics its understandable why he wasn’t invited to the party but then why was Russell Simmons? IDK.
