Donald Trump Disses 50: Predicts His MTV Show ‘Will Fail’

Posted by Juan

He’s right but why’s he hating. That’s how he built his empire.

Donald Trump

So I’m sitting here late last night watching “Inside City Hall” on NY1.  Its a local TV program devoted to New York City politics on our all news all the time network.  Originally I surfed on to the channel to catch the “weather on the 1′s” so I could prepare adequately for a job we’re doing today but soon after got distracted and the TV became background noise while I browsed the blogosphere before bed. The program catches my attention as I look up and realize Donald Trump is talking sh*t about 50 Cent.  I grabbed my TiVo remote and flipped back to the beginning of the segment.

It turns out Trump was being interviews by the political anchor Dominic Carter about his retrospective thoughts on the presidential race and how he feels about his fellow republican’s getting trounced.  Almost inexplicably the conversation jumps to his Apprentice TV Show and how 50′s new MTV reality show “The Money & The Power” is a rippoff.

“I’m in many, many rappers songs. And I know them. 50 Cent is sort of a friend of mine. I mean, he likes me. He just did a show. It was a copy of ‘The Apprentice.’ It will fail because he’s not Trump, but he’s actually a nice guy. And P. Diddy did a show which, by the way, I think bombed, but it was a copy. I wrote him a little note, ‘Good luck with the copy.’”

See this is the ish I was talking about yesterday with his self promotion.  “The Apprentice” has BEEN dead and buried but he still can’t understand that Diddy and 50 are just following the model he laid out for generations: Steal someone else’s concept and remix it.  That’s good business.  Do you think The Donald was sitting in his boardroom and came up with the Apprentice idea? Hell no.  Someone pitched him on it and he reaped the benefit of the credit.  I’m sure he’s right, 50 and Diddy BOTH admire his paper but they also want to get their own.  They don’t care if you noticed that they copied they’re only trying to make bread and you’re hating right now!  I’ve got an idea Trump…why don’t you go back to Chicago and go check on Jennifer Hudson’s security detail that you sevelerly compromised when you announced to the world that you harboring her and her family.  Expect a 50 diss song by the end of the week with Diddy doing corny adlibs on the hook.

  1. And by what standard did Diddy’s show fail? From what I understand VH1 was very happy with the numbers that the show did. And though I’m not feeling 50′s show, Apprentice is indeed dead. very very dead. It worked for like two seasons and then no one cared.

  2. Trump is an equal-opportunity hater. He doesn’t care who he gets at he is just taking shots at anyone moving.

LMAO @ Mike! So true, so true.

Juan, are you hating on the big name CEOs? Then, in that case, I should hate on you. I know that you don’t care for Trump, but his record is impressive (too bad his hair isn’t).
I liked Diddy’s show, but Fiddy’s show is wack. No doubt about it. And I do like you upgrading the vocabulary in your blog posts. It’s a good look homie!

i like 50 show. its ok. aint the worst either nor the best but he gettin it in like he supposed to! cant fault him there. plus, the show is NOT designed to be a model, icon-esque tv show. he will only keep expanding his revenue so it keeps making him money, clout, power etc etc.. ill follow him.
