Q Tip Declares His Top 3 Rappers Of All Time
And dresses like one of the Village People while he’s at it.
I’m honestly surpirsed that Tip paid homage to Slick Rick, Rakim & Biggie. Naturally the list is debatable but not wacky which is what I would have expected. I would think he’d say Doodlebug from the Digable Planets or maybe Raphael Saadiq or better yet someone no one has ever heard of just to be different because you know how these neo-soul cats can be. I respect his list though but what’s up with the Village People Outfit? Doo Doo Fashion for real. I digress…On any given day my top 3 could change but today Its BIG, Jay, and the GOD.
Those are good selections but I love Slick Rick and Rakim do not have nearly as many albums as Common, Kweli, KRS, Andre, Jay-Z, Black Thought, this is just off the top of my head. And he didn’t even mention his posse Pos De Noose or Busta. Not to knock his list and its not bad but thats my thought. Why would he say Doodlebug he unfortunately didn’t amass the albums or the audience he should have had, I loved that kat, still do actually.
