Carmelo Anthony Signs Cassidy To ‘Krossover’ Label
Sloppy no-look pass or well executed game plan?
While Carmelo Anthony may have lost one former Philly sidekick this week in Allen Iverson to the Pistons he gained another when he announced that his record label, Krossover Entertainment signed Philidelphia rapper, Cassidy.
The signing ads to a somewhat respectable roster (relatively speaking) which features Berg, who is slated to drop his debut album Language Arts. Along with new label butt buddy, Cassidy, Berg’s project will cameo Rick Ross, Cool & Dre, Jadakiss, Raheem Devaughn and a host of others.
Now while I respect athletes who have entrepreneurial aspirations outside their respective sport yall know how I feel about heads dropping record labels like they pass gas. Most athletes have an extreme amount of personal time on their hands and given the alternative (getting arrested) I guess I can’t be mad at Mello. But given the fact that his career record and work ethic don’t match his talent perhaps he should be more focused on his game…I know…a lot to ask. He did however issue this statement that may give us insight into what he’s thinking:
“Krossover Entertainment is positioned to experience immediate growth in the mainstream entertainment industry by assembling a high powered team of management professionals and industry tastemakers.”
Ehhh.
