Rappers On Politics: If Mos Def Were President…

Posted by Juan

The Mighty Mos tells us what he would enact if elected to the Oval Office.

In effort to get young voters excited about voting, Rock the Vote has been running an “If I were President” campaign featuring video of musicians and celebrities telling people what THEY would do if they were president.

The latest installment was Mos Def.   I’m going to have to be honest, although Barack Obama might have a good plan he might want to hire Mos as an advisor.  They already agree on Universal Healthcare but I like his platform on Universal Housing as well, a flat 10% tax, mandatory community service for athletes and rich folks, free breakfast for the kids, elimination of the Electoral College, mandatory voting and of course a 100 year moratorium on the phrase “Drop It Like Its Hot!”

I love Mos Def. That was great! “Read a book, it’s free!” (Somebody ought to tell that to Soulja Boy, amongst other people.)
