David Alan Grier is joining the somewhat comical campaign to encourage African Americans to refrain from doing stupid sh*t until after the election. The host of the new Comedy Central show “Chocolate News,” is using his new national platform to literally beg black people to lay low. AND I AGREE WITH HIM!

“We are on the precipice of history,” Grier says directly into the camera. “We are within spitting distance of putting a brother in the White House, but right now, Barack’s chances are shakier than Whitney on the pipe! So black people, I am begging you, until Nov 4, stop doing stupid sh**!”

While its subtly rooted in comedy, I believe the message is important and extremely valid. We have had a history of being robbed, cheated, stolen from and enslaved so why with less than 5 days to go would you risk the chance of having it happen again. We’re on the cusp of history. All around us, we encounter undecided voters each and every day and by acting a fool and participating in stupid “nigger” behavior in their presence, you’re all but destroying all the hard work that the Obama camp has done over the course of the last two years. LAY LOW! This goes for all people white, black or somewhere in between. Try your damndest not to piss people off for the next four days. Let them go to the pools void of any bias against black folk and/or liberal Barack supporters.

Instead turn up the heat. Focus on making phone calls, knocking on doors, writing blogs, doing whatever you can to support Barack. We’re almost there. I’ve seen my New York Mets collapse the last two years in a row at the finish line lets not let that happen here.
