Samuel L. To Play Sho’Nuf in RZA’s Remake of ‘The Last Dragon’

Posted by Juan

He’s got the GLOW!

Shonuff

You couldn’t be a child of the 80’s and not appreciate the ingeniously cheesy cult classic “The Last Dragon.“  Well much to my delight, Sony Columbia Pictures has announced the remake and has inked The RZA to man the helm.  While it is unclear who wil play the lead, Leroy Green, Sony has announced that Samuel L. Jackson is on board to play his arch nemesis originally played by the recently departed Julius Carry.

I’m not sure The RZA could carry a major his limited movie experience mixed with his passion for martial arts and a diabolical mind should be the perfect marriage to pull the movie off.  I think a more seasoned producer might have the tendency to over modify the film with new school special effects.  Could you imagine “The Glow” in some type of Matrix like special effect?  It would ruin the film.  I feel The RZA understand what makes films like “The Last Dragon” or “Belly” effective in their cheesiness.

Shout to Woooha Inc. for the heads up!

What!!! The Last Dragon is a classic! Its the best damsel in distress saved by the hero movie of all time! And Vanity is hot! and Still is!
With that said, the RZA and Samuel got a lot of work cut out for them… they are gonna need Beyonce to play Vanity’s role and a killa soundtrack. Anything less is a waste of time.

I meant to put this in the post itself but what do yall think about Cuba Gooding Jr. as the part of “Bruce” Leroy Green? He’s the spitting image. I don’t know if he can do the karate parts though.

Cuba is like 45 now. I think they may need someone a bit younger. Like that kid from Disney, Courbon Blu or whatever his name is

Cuba when he was getting his hair cut in “Coming To America” would have been perfect. Samuel L. is too old for the role too.

Yeh Sam can barely walk let alone do martial arts

Are you joking?? Kidding me?? Eeeew!Cuba looks nothing like Taimak. Visit his site and checkout the Master himself!!(www.taimak.tv) He is still fine and could play Bruce Leeroy all over again! Sam Jackson might be okay and I see Halle Berry as Laura Charles…

I picture someone like Busta Rhymes as Sho’Nuf though. I’m sure Samuel L will do just fine, but as pointed out in a post above, he’s just too old.

Busta did a music video spoof I think as sho’nuff.

That must be why keep thinking he’d make a good play in this role. Which video was that? It must have been quite a few years back now.
