Donnie Klang Says Some Borderline Racist Things About Black People And Thus Commits Career Suicide (Updated With New Info)
Making The Band 4’s Donnie Klang says that Diddy wants him to be black and he doesn’t even want to work with black folks…or did he?
I can’t believe what I just heard. It seems Making the Band 4’s Donnie Klang is not happy with Diddy and how his career is being managed. His displeasure let some things slip out of his mouth that I’m sure he is now regretting. While appearing on a radio station out of Long Island NY he asked about how it is working with Diddy. Donnie had this to say:
“I get asked this question a lot and I never really been honest with myself or the fans but I’m going to tell you the truth … its hell working with Diddy, he never really gives you a say dealing with your career - its always what he wants. He is trying to make me something I’m not. He wants me to act Black … I’m not sure why maybe because the majority of the Bad Boy family is black. I’m not really sure if this is the place for me anymore, but I’m trying to work through with this and to tell you the truth its really hard to work with Black people in general.”
The the radio show host was stunned and responded with:
“Wow you just put it all out there and you made a very strong comment about black people which I’m sure is gonna cause a lot of controversy” .
To which Donnie responded:
“Well I’m being honest”.
Wow. And just like that this dude’s career is a wrap. Either he’s gonna to lose his deal and be blacklisted or Diddy is going to make him do one of those embarrassing videos, like he did Cassie, where he’s gonna have Donnie sit down next to him and apologize. Either way people aren’t gonna look at this dude the same. I just find it amazing that he complains about Diddy trying to make him black. What exactly did he expect when he originally tried out for Diddy’s all male R&B group?
UPDATE: I reported this story after hearing it from several reliable sources (or so I thought). I was a bit suspicious though since no audio of the interview in question ever surfaced. Now it is starting to look like a bad rumor that was started by none of than the scum of all urban websites, Media Takeout. Donnie has issued a statement about the whole thing explaining how he feels:
“A popular website posted a completely fabricated story about me yesterday, and now it’s circulating around the internet. It is important for me to speak to my fans and let them know that the story is 100% fiction. It’s completely made up! I love all my fans and all people of various racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds. I would never, in any way, say anything racially derogatory. In addition, I love my Bad Boy family and have nothing but love for the entire label and staff. Don’t believe the lies! The story is absolutely false.”
It is unfortunate that a rumor like this would be started and I apologize for not looking into it further before publishing on this site because it appears as though Donnie is not a racist, he’s just a poor man’s Justin Timberlake.

donnie klang’s career was doa anyway. i don’t even know why diddy picked him for a solo career. i appreciate his honesty but he should have never tried out for the show in the first place if he felt that way about working with black people. after all, this wasn’t abc’s version of making the band with that that lou pedophile guy.
I never liked him anyway, newsflash to him, we already have our blue-eyed soul in Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke..boy bye
As y’all say in New York, Donnie was “keepin’ it funky”. (Who the hell came up with that saying, might I ask?)
I agree with JNez and Miss April Joy. Donnie is a music experiment gone wrong. He just doesn’t fit into the Bad Boy image (whatever that means).
He might start touring with Kramer in a city near you.
Do Danity Kane or better yet Dream fit that image?
I dunno. I think Bad Boy’s image is becoming more mainstream, yet reserving a sense of “hipness” to it. Donnie is more of a “Bad Boy” in Disney terms. Maybe that was his way of quitting.
I just can’t wait to see or hear what Diddy does. Maybe dude will actually do a funny video blog for a change..
i dont like donnie anyway. If it was not for diddy donnie would have never made it. He is no robin thicke or justin. we will never here from donnie again.
WHO!?!
Damn it K.Karboso I was just about to say the same thing. I’ve never heard of this dude. Does he have a record.
Not only does he have a record,we have actually featured his music and videos on HN before
1.) Donnie’s album sucked….(Even though I left a comment on his Myspace saying I loved it, really I just love him.)But we know from watching the show that it actually is Diddy’s fault. He kept saying he wants Donnie to be the next Justin Timberlake. That was where he went wrong. Then he picked that whack weirdo producer.
2.) Diddy is the worst boss ever. He needs to work on his office etiquette. Yes he worked many years to get where he is today, but I don’t think in all the learning he did actually managing people was included. He has no people skills. He needs his artists more than they need him at this point. He said himself, that he no longer makes money in the rap game. You don’t just throw people away like they are trash. Not when they are the ones making money for you, dude!
3.)It is hard to work with Black people.LOL.That’s not racist. We are the best at so many things, we expect the best from people who represent us!We have to work harder to prove ourselves. And Diddy seems to have made it his business to be the hardest to work with Black man of all!I think it would be a great honor to work for Diddy, but if he offered me a job, I’d hesitate. That’s because I’m not willing to work that hard. I won’t walk in the freezing cold to get you some damn cheesecake! The man has high expectations. He’s Black, and hard to work with!!
4.)Donnie has been embarrassed time and again on television by Diddy! Everyone knows that at your job, you want to feel respected! If you’re not respected, you quit!Even though being signed to Bad Boy is a great opportunity, we can’t expect Donnie or any other employee to live in misery! Being a recording artist is a J-O-B like any other.Put in your two-weeks notice Donnie-boo and sign to a different label. You have great potential that Diddy missed his chance to bring out!
I’m Done.
He was a gimmick anyway…peace
Funniest part about this whole ish is if we actually thought about it. WE ARE the hardest people to work with. He’s just not allowed to tell us that…hence why we’re the hardest people to work with. Confusing but deep.
OK so 1st off whats wrong with someone sateing their oppinion? Also do you seriously believe everything you read on the internet? Who the hell cares if he said black people, hell he is a white person, so whouldn’t you call him a white person or white people? seriously how dumb people are to sit here and argue about this shit.
No one was denying his statment….Donnie could’ve worded it a lil better tho, or waited until he became a success, imo
-B.
So what if I worked in the tech industry where there are not many blacks but there are many Asians and I said I didn’t like to work with Asians because “Asians are stupid”. Would that be okay also?
No that wudn’t be ok, but he never said that he doesn’t like to work with blacks b/c “blacks are stupid”. Now if u worked @ the tech industry & said that you don’t like working with asians b/c they are hard to work with/for, that’s a honest answer….he shouldn’t have said “in general”….that may be where he worded it incorrectly…but it’s not true anyway, & Donnie is not a good enough performer to be a solo artist anyway so……..
-B.
Donnie would never say that about ANYONE!!, donnie very much loves his bad boy family including Diddy and all his fans and this whole interview is 100% fake..
RE: Update
a) he’s still an nobody
b) Notice he didn’t say anything about Diddy. Is that an underhanded shot across the bow?
