P. Miller Proves He’s No Business Man. New Travel ‘Business’ Venture Is a Pyramid Scheme.

Posted by Juan

Question is: was he duped or the one doing the dupping?

 P. Miller
Take that suit off you clown. You’re giving black business a bad name.

I wanted to weigh in on this new controversial business venture set forth by P. Miller.  I waited a little while on it because I wanted to give it some additional thought before jumping out there with an opionon.

For those of you who may have missed it, (Master) P. Miller and his brother, one-time (maybe still is) rapper Silkk the Shocker, have collaborated with Gene Van Horn and World Ventures to create a new affiliate marketing business www.yourinvestmenttravel.com.

Here are the basics, for a flat fee of $199 and a monthly charge of $19.99 a month, P. says you get to run  your own internet-based travel agency and sell everything from vacations to cars and more through your website.

“Instead of spending a couple hundred dollars at the mall, you could put that money towards starting your own small ‘business,’” said P. Miller. “If you just sacrifice $500 from your weekly personal expenses and invest that in yourself, you will not only be able to afford more in the future, but you will also be building generational wealth for your family.”

“This is not about entertainment,” he explained. “This is about exposing people to other opportunities that lead to financial freedom. If you are in the music business and you are waiting for that big record deal, you still need to eat and take care of your families now. It’s time to be more responsible.”

If this all sounds familiar its probably because it is!  This is the Pyramid scheme at its finest and the worst part is he’s just a player, a pawn a piece like all of us would be.  I twice have been asked by business acquaintances of mine to join them on a “meeting,” a meeting of which on both occasions the individuals conveniently neglected to provide many details.  Upon reaching the venue I knew instantly I had been had.  I was then forced to sit through a “powerful” presentation about how I could start my own business and develop a team of other budding entrepreneurs using a simple online business model developed by this guy in the video whose standing on a yacht.  The only difference this time is its P.  whose telling us about this “meeting” and this “business opportunity.”  Maybe you’ve seen them or been invited to one yourself.  You know when some guy you wouldn’t traditionally know as a businessman tells you to meet you at a Starbucks to tell you about a lucrative business opportunity.  Its always a bad sign.

I can’t really express how disappointed I am in P. Miller on this one.  It really makes me question though has he been HAD like I was and still doesn’t realize this business opportunity is part of some elaborate caper?  Is he seriously thinking that the product he’s hocking is the hope stealing wet dream of the white dude on the yacht (no offense to our melanin deprived Nation.)

See the real danger here is that P is not savvy enough to identify the pyramid scheme and given his status and money could be taken to the bank on a much larger scale than the ordinary folk.  It also makes you wonder that if he could be duped in this capacity truly how savvy is P. and how legitimate are any of his business ventures including his most recent and most impressive, his Better Black Television Network.  At a time when crooks have been busy robbing America dry I wouldn’t be surprised if this spells the end of Master P.  cause he’s lost just about all credibility with me on this one.

SIDENOTE: I just noticed something that suit is way too big for P. He’s still wearing his suits like he’s in the hood. He’s a tall dude so there’s no telling what size that is.

Yet another case of sticking it to the poor. Sure, just give us some money and we’ll show you how you can be rich.

As many of us (including, I assume the Highbrid staff who seem to be everywhere these days) understand, a successful business involves more work than we ever imagined, luck, and some strong stomach medicine on the ‘worry days’.

Besides, in this economy, I don’t think luxury industries like travel is the best idea, especially for the inexperienced.

Your comment about being invited to meetings where the details are never discussed in advance are right on target. It ranks right up there with people who want to offer you a “job”, and then insist that it’s normal for you to have to pay up front for your training.

Sometimes I feel like Master P’s way of doing business is to slap his brand P. Miller (formerly No Limit) on as much stuff as possible and just see what sticks.

Just like most celebrities, Master P is not totally in control of all his business ventures. There are obviously some people who put him up to this. And yes, this is a Pyramid Scheme.

Unfortunately, pyramid schemes have changed names to confuse the uneducated. “Network marketing” is what it’s called now. And when you ask if it’s a pyramid scheme, recruiters will vehemently tell you: “Oh No!”

Great post, Juan! I might not be a “Marketing Executive” like you, but I know enough about stuff like this- as a soon to be Master of Science in Marketing (dusting my shoulder off).

GREAT post, Juan! I saw a headline regarding this elsewhere but wasn’t interested in reading it but the way you put this together made me change my mind. Damn, i’m disappointed in Percy. SMH.

Aight so it wasn’t just me. Its a shame that someone who positions themselves as trying to be the voice for the voiceless poor folks would try and take advantage of their ignorance. A damn shame.
