In case you didn’t know John Singleton had been working on an new movie based on the cult favorite 80’s television show A-Team. Though few details about how the direction the film was going on are available, it was likely going to suck hard. One thing for sure is that Tyrese Gibson was going to be in it. Ever since 2Pac died Singleton can’t seem to make a movie without including Tyrese (Baby Boy, Four Brothers, 2 Fast 2 Furious, ect.). Tyrese was actually set to fill the shoes of Mr. T as B. A. Barackus but he wasn’t going to have a mohawk or gold chains. Like I said, it was going to suck.

We’ve been saved from an A-Team movie not because people saw that it was gonna suck and shut it down but because John Singleton walked. He got tired of production getting held up by constant rewrites. No word on what he’s moving onto next. Hopefully he’ll do something we’d actually want to see like a super extended Tyra Banks death scene from Higher Learning (am I the only person who has a huge kool-aid grin on his face whenever he sees that scene?).

As for the status of the A-Team movie, Fox actually still has it scheduled for a 2010 release but with no director at the helm maybe they will just squash the whole thing.
