One thing is clear, side splitting funnyman, Kat Williams didn’t host the BET Hip-Hop Awards taping this past Saturday, Oct. 18 which will air tonight at 8PM.  The reasons why we may never completely know. If you’re dumb enough to believe the official statement issued by BET then I’ve got some Lehman Brothers stock I want to sell you.  According to their website, the comedian relinquished his hosting duties after losing a  break dancing dual with the vocoded T-Pain, clearly an attempt to both hide and make fun of the truth.

However sources for AOL’s BlackVoices.com indicate that the comedian had a heated confrontation with a producer from Cosette Productions and refused to return to rehearsals unless the producer apologized.

“Katt was disrespectful, difficult and demanding throughout the process and his unprovoked verbal lashing on the producer was unwarranted,” a source told Black Voice’s Jawn Murray.

Allegedly the Williams realizing he was hired by BLACK Entertainment Television decided to arrived on colored people’s time for rehearsals showing up a whopping three hours late.  Upon his arrival he was apparently greeted by the producer as his RV, which he was driving himself, pulled up to escort him into the rehearsal.

“He hopped out of his RV and went into a ‘do you know who I am’ rant. He was angry and wanted to know who called the union on him, because there had been an issue with Katt’s camp trying to over-schedule the backup dancers.”

After attempting to reherse without futher hiccup the Comedian/Actor broke out the diva again stating he couldn’t “go on” without an apology to his entire staff. The producer refused and a standoff insued.  When it was clear Williams wasn’t budging the BET staff put out a call to T-Pain.

Now I’m a fan of Kat Williams much more than I’m a fan of BET or any of their shuckin and jiving awards programs.  I wasn’t planning to watch the debacle tonight at 8PM but I’m definately not watching with T-Pain at the helm.  HOWEVER, I’ve seen this little man before and in addition to being a diva and a borderline queen he’s got a Napoleon complex.  So the behavioir clearly is not surprising.  Much like the kid Kanye, its their gift and their curse.  They can’t be great without it but it will ultimately lead to both their demise.
