I'm young black conservative that just recently broke ranks with the Democratic Party in last pass couple of months. I don't know much about Gen. Colin Powell but I respect his views. I would also like to disagree with some of the points he made.

During his interview Gen. Powell makes the point that the RNC has moved farther to the right. I'm sorry but electing McCain doesn't show any signs to me that the Party is moving in that direction. There were far more conservative choices in the primaries.

Another point of concern Gen. Powell brought up was about Obamas friendship with Aires. I believe Obamas friendship with Aires and Pastor Wright ought to concern anyone. They both display a hatred for America and it brings in to question how does Obama really fell about this country. I know you remember the old adage, "birds of a feather flock together."

I know you will disagree with my opinions but I felt the need to share a different prospective.

You know what this means, don’t you? There’s now an opening for the position of “black republican.”
.
You have to be light skinned (so you won’t scare the old people), you have to smile a lot; and it helps if you can talk a lot about pulling oneself up by bootstraps, “family values”, and “activist judges.”
.
In all seriousness, if I was a black man who lusted after power with no moral limits, the Republican Party is the best place to go. They have so few black folks in it now, that any black man or woman who can spell their own name can get fast-tracked to a national audience via TV appearances, convenient photo-ops with any republican who needs to show how well they get along with minorities, as well as long-term VP options to conquer the “black-gap” created by Obama winning the nomination.
.
Of course I find it more than a little funny that after spending so many years talking about how wonderful Powell is, it’s taken a little less than 48 hours for them to trash him on every aspect of his life.

Good for CP! He's on CP time with his endorsement, but we love him all the same. Plus, I haven't officially endorsed Barry yet, but it's coming once I get MY TV interview deal. :)

I've added the video from Meet The Press to the post and for those wondering about Rush's comments, here is <a href="http://www.whataboutourdaughters.com/2008/10/rush-limbaugh-responds-to-colin-powells-obama-endorsement-laments-lack-of-endorsement-for-ineperienced-very-liberal-white-candidates/" rel="nofollow">the link to the story on What About Our Daughters</a>

Rush is an idiot. I don't even think he thinks about what he says before he says it.

I watched this on meet the press this morning. I am anxious to see what the conservative talking heads have to say about it this week. I can see them now trying to play it off as him just voting for a black guy. WhatAboutOurDaughters.com has already posted what Rush Limbaugh had to say about it.
