Terrence Howard Dropped From Ironman Sequel For No Good Reason?

Posted by Mike "Evorgleb" Belgrove

They say it was a money issue. If so, Terrence may have shot himself in the foot…with a repulsor cannon

Word broke earlier this week that Terrence Howard would not be reprising his role as James “Rhodey” Rhodes in the sequel to the blockbuster Iron Man. Many fans were seriously disappointed as all signs pointed to James Rhodes becoming his own armored super hero, War Machine in a second film. Various reports were saying that Marvel Studios wanted Howard back for the sequel back he was asking for too much money. However while at the NPR Studio promoting his new album, Shine Through It,Terrence spoke on the matter.

“It was the surprise of a lifetime. There was no explanation. [The contract] just…up and vanished. I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on, sometimes. Promises aren’t kept, and good faith negotiations aren’t always held up.”

So it would appear that Terrence thought everything was all good and next thing you know he was pulled. It’s ashame as I was looking forward to Howard as War Machine. However Marvel has already found a suitable replacement that is just as capable of an actor, Don Cheadle to step into the part.

I’m predicting fat paychecks for Don Cheadle in the near future. Sorry Terrence.

YOu think? He hasn’t been in any other blockbusters other Iron Man. Other than that his biggest film was Hustle and Flow which did modest numbers in the box office. I think it’s safe to say that Howard isn’t strapped for cash but I don’t know if I’d call him rich. Guess is depends on what you call rich. One thing that’s for sure is that he was probably set to make the most moeny he has ever made if he was in Iron Man 2.
