Important News: Don’t Sport Your Choice

Posted by E. A. Smith

On election day be careful on what you where, you may not be able to vote.

On November 4, 2008 between the hours of 8am – 8pm when you go out to voice your choice, do so without showing your support.  I have received many emails on this and did my research to find it to be true.  You are not allowed to do any type of campaining with in a certain number of feet of the polling area and wearing t-shirts, pins, hats, shoes, scarfs, jackets, or any type of parafanilia supporting your candidate is considered just that, campaining.  You will be turned away from the polls and not allowed to vote until you remove it (remember no shirt, no shoes, NO VOTE!)

Yes you see people giving out cards and pins around the polling area, but they are outside and in legal area.  Make sure you spread the word, because with the popularity of this election, everyone has some type of parafanilia and votes will be lost on minor ignorance.  Make your vote count, and make it worth your time.

This was a public service announcement brought to you by Highbrid Nation.

There’s an even more dastardly trick being played.
    .
Operatives are currently scouring the public records for the names of people who have had their homes foreclosed, with the intention of contesting their votes.
    .
They argue that once your house is foreclosed, you are no longer a resident, and therefore no longer allowed to vote in your old district. Since you don’t know this up front, you will not have thought to have registered in another district, so you don’t get to vote at all.
    .
No word on where a homeless person is supposed to register in order to maintain their constitutional rights, but it’s a good bet that anyone whose home was foreclosed is more than a little likely to vote against the party that was in office when life dealt them the body blow, so this trick works to the advantage of the republicans.
    .
If you are in these circumstances, I would call your election board NOW to find out if you can still vote in your old district, and try to get some sort of verification in writing before you go to the polls.
    .
Also: if you can, vote as early as possible in the day. Weather is a big factor in presidential elections, and voting early will eliminate the chance that you miss out due to rain, snow, or long lines near the end of the day. This is going to be a heavy election, so expect lines if you go later in the day.
    .
If at all possible, also try to avoid absentee ballots. In a perfect world, every vote would count, but in reality, absentee votes are only looked at if the initial poll counts are close. By voting at a poll instead of absentee, your vote gets counted in the early tally where it really counts.
    .
Aside from that, look for the other “old school” tricks. If you see notices tacked to phone polls reminding you to vote on WEDNESAY (instead of Tuesday, the real day), get a cell phone photo before they tear it down and call the media.
    .
Expect that there will be police cars at the polls if you live in a largely minority or democratic district. They are called in (they say) for security, but they are actually called in to scare people into thinking that voters are checked for outstanding warrants or parking tickets. This trick works to the advantage of the Republicans.
    .
Expect that polling stations will be running low on ballots, especially if you are in a largely democratic or minority district. This will be a result of the abnormally high turnout that’s expected, plus a trick designed to discourage democratic votes.
    .
If you suspect that you are in a district where these tricks are going to be played, I suggest that you have a cell phone and the phone numbers for both the local election board and the local media.
    .
Remember that light is the greatest weapon against deception.

  2. wow, good issh malcom and ea, we’ll have to run this a couple more times
