MARKETING MATTERS: Master P Drops Yet Another Clothing Line Destined For Wal-Mart Shelves
Miller Peaches the new low budget loud clothing line from the Miller fam.
Well it most certainly looks like the gaudiest Hip hop mogul, Percy “P.” Miller is back on his game. In addition to the recent announcement of his new Better Black TV Network, P has backed it up with the launch of a new women and girls called Miller Peaches…like we need another one.
Like all of his fruitleg “urban” gear the line will be distributed by Wal-Mart, which Miller has a long term deal with. The line which is described as featuring stretch denim will retail for between $10 and $20, and will accommodate the plus size mommies. Here’s what Miller said about the line in his statement:
“P. Miller truly is a complete lifestyle brand, which now includes P.Miller Designs for young men, Miller Peaches for young women, Kids, Shoes and Accessories lines. This brand seeks to clothe the entire family from head to toe and target the African American and Hispanic minority customers and make history by being a quality, affordable, urban lifestyle brand for the community.”
To help kick start the excitement surrounding the line, P. has announced that he’s doing a nationwide search for a Miller Peaches spokeswoman. Although the search is said to be conducted via his Better Black TV Network, expect him and his ultra vain son to make an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park to promote the contest…that is, if BET will still have them any longer.
“We are looking for The Miller Peaches Great American Girl… is it you?” asked Miller. “Tell us what makes you The Miller Peaches Great American Girl for a chance at an opportunity with our national advertising campaign for Miller Peaches clothing.”
I try…I really do try not to be ultra critical of Master Percy P. Miller whatever because I do recognize that his intentions are very positive. However, its kind of like when you turn on the news and see them covering a local disadvantaged school initiative and they interview the young black boy or girl and he can use proper grammar. Sure you’re proud of his accomplishments but I really wish P was more polished. You can see this guy coming from a mile away. True moguls are always understated, prepared, refined a little bit more slick. They act like they’ve been there before. P just comes across as a very wealthy guy trying to do something positive but has absolutely no idea how to effectively make it happen. Just my opinion.

I think it’s a good idea. It’s about time designers started focusing on people who live on a budget. I like some of the name brand stuff that cost $80 bucks but it just cost way too much and I refuse to pay that much for some jeans.
So you gone be rocking that master P gear?
Go to old navy if you want cheap ish.
I’m trying to figure out how you can call stuff a “lifestyle brand” and have Wal-mart be the main avenue of distribution. Doesn’t really mesh.
cake, still trying to get that rap snacks dough
Master P is the only Hip Hop mogul who even really owns his companies.Unlike Jay z,Diddy Russell and 50.
So keep on hatin b*tch.
