Drivers License doubles as Passport

Posted by J. Reid

Embedded RFID

mugshot.jpg If you like to travel internationally but hate the part of the process that causes you to tear apart your place looking for your passport, you will love this addition. New York has jumped on board to issue Enhanced Driver Licenses that also works as a Passport. This is possible because there is a RFID chip(holds no personal info) embedded in the card.  If you are traveling to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean and ONLY Canada, Mexico, Bermuda or the Caribbean you can now flash your new improved drivers license. It will cost you an additional $30 to have this type of access. Good part is that a regular passport costs about $150 so you will be saving $120 BUT you won’t have those cool little stamps in your passport no more. Thanks Jalopnik

  1. Canada, Mexico and the other spots you mentioned are remind me of going to Florida, Jersey or California… So I’d prefer the Enhanced ID.

It’s only cool to get stamps for those far off places… Australia, Japan, South Africa…

I think I’m going to get one.

Agreed if you’re a world traveler the stamps are always cool as hell but especially if you’re a frequent flyer who doesn’t care about that…this has great utility.

  3. Uncle Ruckus says:

No comment on what the chips actually do. well let me shed a little light on them, they are tracking chips. Although there is no “personal information stored” on it, that has to be a lie. You can’t give out Driver’s Licenses without having a way of tracking. Thus the number above your picture on your license. If the chip is useless and holds no personal information, why have it?

This is to track people who want to go to countries outside of the countries which the US deem “good” for tourism, EX Cuba.

If you monkeys want to believe what this article says, do it. White man always knows what’s best for the niggras

  4. Juan says:

    Keep um coming Uncle Ruckus!

  5. Social Security Numbers, Credit Cards, Cell Phones, MetroCards, Passports, Twitter, IP Addresses, Log In names, Cookies… They all track you in some sort of way or another.

You want to stay off the grid? Don’t swip a piece of plastic or get a job or fill out an application. I’m just saying… One way or another they know what you’re doing and where you’ve been.

  6. JR Linkz says:

That RFID chip is suspect. Aren’t they in the new passports already? But then again like Urban Thought had said them mutha fuckaz got us in the system one way or the other. Makes me wish I could tax, spy, track, keep files, regulate, and gridlock ‘the man’ for a change.
