? of the Day: W/ R. Kelly Acquittal, Do We Still See Him As A Child Pornographer?

Posted by Juan

Kelly shares his first public comments since case (read before responding)

R. Kelly

Many of the women of Highbrid Nation have been very outspoken with our continued coverage of R. Kelly feeling that we were in a way condoning the behavior he perpetuated.  However following his recent acquittal on all child pornography charges I felt it was appropriate to post his first public comments which he made about the case last night (Tues) on BET News.

“If it has had any impact, I would hope it would be a positive impact and I can move on with my life. I hope people can give me my life back.”

Referring to those family members, namely his brother Carey Kelly who turned against him during the seven year trial R. Kelly responded by saying:

“Unfortunately the people that don’t work for me say tha t… and the people that don’t work for me were fired,” said Kelly. “Do not listen to the people that were fired, listen to the facts. I know people are out to get me because I’m very vulnerable, especially during a seven-year trial.”

Interestingly enough however, Kelly still is intent on keeping younger company.  When questioned about his teenage fetish, Kelly responded:

“When you say teenage, how old do you mean? I have some 19-year-old friends, but I don’t like anyone illegal if that’s what we are talking about, underage.”

Speaking about the future:

“I’m not going to let this affect my gift.  I’ve done vintage R. Kelly songs during the trial because I said no matter what, I’m not going to let this make me run under a rock and not do my job. Some people fall off and I chose not to do that.”

Now that the case is over an all is said and done do we group R. Kelly with the O.J. Simpsons of the world or do we give him reprieve and honor that the US court system gave him a fair trial and move on?

Good analysis, Juan.

[I watched the finale of Gs to Gents last night instead of the Kelz Interview, so I can’t fully critique the interview just yet]

But I feel that we should hold him accountable for the content of HIS SONGS, rather than the accusations of his character.

By no means will I condone his alleged behavior. But if he believes the lie that much, then I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Nonetheless, he has to answer to God for his actions, and that judge can sentence him to life of turmoil if he doesn’t repent.

(I apologize for the Bible thumping, but I love the Lord!)

I feel you on that. Regardless of what you believe it I think most people subscribe to the theory of Karma. What you put out there comes back to you in some way. No bad deed goes unpunished in this lifetime or the next.

I’ve never looked at him as a child pornographer but he does have a “problem” with young girls. Most people that have a fetish or whatever are repeat offenders. I mean if you catch someone with a tranny once, you’ll usually catch them with one again if that is really their thing. R. has a thing with young girls and there is a danger in that because you can be messing with someone that looks 19-21 but is actually 16 or even younger. It’s the Michael Jackson thing all over again. Mike needs to stay away from kids and so does Kellz, JUST DATE WOMEN, BRUH.

Being that I have SEEN the tape with my own two eyes, I will always see him as a sick, child molesting individual who manipulated the legal system and his superstar status to get out of this world lawyers to defend him. I just hope and pray his daughters will never have to face what he’s done to the daughter’s of others. I hate to say it but Karma really is a bitch…
