Alicia Keys emphatically denies having any involvement with the split of producer Swizz Beatz and his estranged wife Mashonda, however the New York Daily News is reporting that she could be officially named by the singer as “the other woman’ in her divorce filings.

According to a Daily News insider, Keys threw a birthday party for Swizz at midtown’s Louis Vuitton store, where where “Alicia introduced Swizz as ‘The man of the hour and my boo,” in front of guests that  included Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony and Robin Thicke.  This naturally angered Mashonda who says she’s had enough.  “She’s tired of pretending she’s deaf, dumb and blind to what’s going on. She can’t believe how disrespectful Alicia is being.”

In a classic jealous woman’s move she scoured through Swizz’s blackberry and allegedly found a flirtatious e-mail from Keys to which she very swiftly and slickly fired back a response. To defend herself, the Grammy award winning singer told Us Weekly she’s not “in any way linked” to the couple’s break up.

Swizz also released a short statement:

“I can no longer ignore the harmful rumors, that my friend Alicia Keys is in any way linked to my marital circumstances or to the decision that [my wife] Mashonda and I have made to separate. I am disappointed that some have chosen to try and tarnish Alicia’s reputation by irresponsibly implicating her in a situation that she has absolutely nothing to do with.”

Now you know I’m not the one for gossip but the whole thing seems weird.  I would imagine that Keys and Swizz would have a working relationship and probably flirt a little bit as the two have gotten close but does every homegirl a dude keeps have to be about cheating?  After all we’ve reported before the Keys herself is mired in her OWN love sponge.  Seems like Mashonda is trying to find a source for their marital problems and what women fail to realize at times is its not always someone else…sometimes its you!  Judging from her reaction to the whole thing I’m starting to see why Swizz left in the first place.
