Update: Ne-Yo Wins Trial; Ne-Yo Suing R.Kelly For Denying Him That Tour Money
After being hated on by Kellz; Ne-Yo sues and attempts to gets the paper he should’ve been paid if not kicked off R.Kelly’s Double Up Tour
Update: Ne Yo to get $700,320 of what he asked for. Pretty close.
Def Jam R&B star Ne-Yo has launched a lawsuit against R. Kelly’s concert promotion company Rowe Entertainment after the Chicago R&B star booted him off his current tour, The Double Up Tour which also features Keyshia Cole.
The Smoking Gun website obtained the lawsuit, filed December 31 in Los Angeles Superior Court. In it, Ne-Yo (real name: Shaffer Smith) alleges that he was kicked off the tour due to reviews and crowd reaction being more favorable for him than R. Kelly.
Ne-Yo says that he was set to earn $785,000 for opening for R. Kelly at a minimum 25 shows.
Ne-Yo only completed two shows before being kicked off the tour.

From what I understand, the promoters didn’t even show up to the trial to defend themselves.
ha ha
It sounds fair if contracts showed that he was to be paid over 700K for opening. Damn he is lucky.
The man has got talent. I love R. Kelly despite his crazyness and teen girl f*ing ways. He is talented as well but he really needs to calm down with the ego.
Kells track record with stupidity when it comes to tours (ie The Best of Both Worlds Tour with Jay-Z) just proves that he doesn’t make the best decisions.
