PBS ‘Independent Lens’ To Premier with Controversial ‘Chicago 10′ Animated Documentary
The story of young Americans speaking out against an oppressive government.
The 7th season of the Emmy Award-winning weekly PBS series “Independent Lens” premiers October 22 (9PM.) Described as a film festival in your living room the thought provoking and inspiring docu-series hosted by Terrence Howard kicks off with Brett Morgen’s “Chicago 10,” an incredibly dramatic visual concoction of animation and archive footage to bring the infamous Chicago Conspiracy Trial following the protest of the 1968 Democratic Convention to life.
CHICAGO 10 is a parable of hope, courage and ultimate victory, the story of young Americans speaking out and taking a stand in the face of an oppressive and armed government.
“Chicago 10″ features characters Black Panther leader Bobby Seale, Judge Julius Hoffman, defense attorney William Kuntsler; SDS defendant Tom Hayden; and Hippies Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman.
The film dropped for limited engagement last year but this will be the first opportunity for the masses to check it out. Peep the trailer which features the vocals of Hank Azaria, Mark Ruffalo, James Urbaniak, Jeffrey Wright, Liev Schreiber, Nick Nolte and Roy Scheider and more.

Sounds interesting.
Wow this is amazing. I really want to see it. I love the concept of blending animation, history, and archive footage together.
Man I am so happy that you brought this to my attention. I just put it at the top of my que on Netflix. I can’t wait to see it!
Exactly…that’s what we do here at Highbrid Nation. Try and bring something new to the table. When I first heard about this animated documentary I thought how cool. Then I learned it featured Bobby Seale and I was all in. I can’t wait to peep it.
