Mel B. Cuts Deal With OK! Mag To Fund Lavish Egyptian Ceremony To Renew Vows
Mel baby when I said corporate sponsorship for artists I didn’t mean this.
One of The Nation’s favorite’s, Mel B will reportedly renew her vows with the her husband Stephen Belafonte. When I first read this I thought “Oh how nice” but at second glance I’m a little put off by the details. OK! magazine is reportedly paying £200,000 to Mel B. to help pay for an over-the-top ceremony in Egypt. (???) But stipulations of the contribution require Scary Spice to show them the celebs.
The UK’s Daily Mirror is reporting that Mel B. is trying to collect famous faces but having a lot of trouble doing it.
“Mel and Stephen wanted a lavish do to celebrate their relationship,” a source explained. “They agreed to allow the event to be covered by a magazine but are obliged to fulfill certain requirements. One of these is a certain quota of well-known faces - family and close friends simply won’t do. Most of her friends now are American and Mel keeps herself away from the showbiz scene in London. And she has felt slightly pressured into inviting celebs she’s not actually met. But whatever happens Stephen or Mel will have a fantastic day.”
Here’s my thing…didn’t they just get married? Isn’t it a little to early to go about renewing vows? My grandparents did that on their 50th anniversary. If you need to get a magazine to fund the outing then you don’t need to be doing it. You’re way to fine Mel to be selling out to the highest bidder. I’ve always been very supportive of your career including that lame show with that Backstreet Boy but don’t dissapoint me.

WHAT U KNOW ABOUT EDDIE MEL!?!?!?!
confidentiality agreements n ish….
-B.
I like Mel B and I think the idea is really sweet but like you Juan, I feel that this is kinda dumb.
Every celeb nowadays is just feeding the paps pics of their babies and so on. The idea of getting the money from OK seems good but calling up every acquaintance in Tinsel Town is another thing.
Since I know it’s all about getting famous people for OK I won’t be buying that edition.
By the way, didn’t she just get married in the last two or three years? It’s a little early to be renewing vows. She is still a newlywed practically. Damn.
