MARKETING MATTERS: Kim Kardashian Recreates 1980 Brooke Sheilds Calvin Klein Spread
What’s the point? It was sexy then but Kim that ship sailed a long time ago
Well Highbrid Nation’s favorite Fat Back Award blanquita, Kim Kardashian is back making headlines. She’s teamed up with Radar Magazine in effort to recreate Brooke Shields‘ 1980 ad “What comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing” for the September 2008 issue of the magazine.
Shields Calvin Klein spread was the center of much controversy because it was very risque for the era in which it was created. The implied thought of 80′s blond bombshell Brooke Sheilds going commando in her Calvins got mothers fuming, men hot under the collar and young women streaming to the stores to buy their pair. Its all anyone was talking about.
But in this era where visible undergarmets, voyarism and celebrity sex tapes, Kim’s recreation in her Jordache Jeans is relatively ho-hom in comparison. Perhaps it bears a bit of artistic value as an ode to the past but from a buzz-worth perspective…I’ll pass.

Some things can’t be duplicated, this photoshoot is definitely one of them. The original is better than this, this jus’ looks silly, jus’ my opinion. PEACE!!!

Is she crazy? Why would she do anything to make people compare her to the most beautiful woman that ever was in show business? Kim what’s her name is short, dumpy, bottom heavy, thick legged, too dark for her own good, and probably has hair on her forearms and back. And she has Tammy Faye Baker eyelashes. Compare her to Brooke Shields??? lol
