Sony’s XRoss Fade Gives You Club DJ Mix With The Grown & Sexy Look
Mix like a pro straight from you ipod.
Hey what up Nation. I saw this this morning and thought it was interesting so I figured I’d share. As a former DJ myself I try to stay abreast of the new innovations in DJ gear but everything has become so complicated. It used to be you just had a set of Techniques, A mixer, an amp and speakers and you were good to go but now the game has changed.
But today Sony introduced the Xross Fade which allows even the novice or burnt out DJ like myself to mix like a pro straight from your iPod. This music system which boasts 450 watts of pop features a cross-fader with monitor cue and a built-in two-channel mixer. With this feature, an upcoming track can be checked through headphones to be sure it’s cued properly before playing live allowing you to mix two songs or fade into the next song.
With an interface and two scroll wheel mechanisms you can mix right from dual ipods like turntables without ever having to touch them while scanning for the next track. The XROSS FADE system even has a USB recording function that saves mixing sessions to a USB device in the MP3 format without a PC.
Pretty cool if you ask me although Gizmodo doesn’t share my excitement. Perhaps their missing the point. I figured it to be perfect for that mature, grown-and sexy dinner party with that collegiate house party flavor. As you get more mature you still love the old tunes but don’t always need the cutting and scratching. The system will run you $499 and can be copped at sonystyle.com. Although they are currently out of stock, the site says you can pre-order.
