Usain ‘Lightning’ Bolt of Jamaica made history Wednesday night in Beijing when he became the first
man in history to break world records in the 100m and 200m at the same Games. Bolt again demolished the field with a winning time of 19.30 seconds, beating the previous time of 19.32 seconds set by Michael Johnson in Atlanta in 1996.

However perhaps the Jamaican sprinter’s biggest victory has been his partnership with Puma.  In his two victories, his elaborate and somewhat controversial celebrations have featured him profiling his personalized PUMA Theseus II golden spikes.  At first look it might appear to be some undisciplined histrionics however, Bolts barefoot victory laps with his spikes draped around his neck have been just what the athletic apparel company has been looking for.

Before Usain Bolt became a household name, Puma took a gamble on the young sprinter making him their face their new shoe.  Further leveraging the partnership they’ve created a personal blogumentary called Chasing Bolt. Puma follows their now emblematic olympic track-and-field hero, 2-time World Record Holder and “World’s Fastest Man,” Usain Bolt of Jamaica.
