FYI they do popular voting… which is what you explain and they have judges who pick the best sites regardless if they were nominated or not… so if anyone nominated you including yourself you still have a chance of winning the judges vote. Stereohype beat me last year for something in the judges vote so all is not lost.

Yeah man I was geeked when I thought I would at least get the judges vote and they picked somebody else all together!! I was like WTF it’s cool though I like the whole process.

I won’t even front, I think there are few pretty crappy blogs on the list. But in defense of the organizers, it would be a pretty tall task to scour the web for every single black blog and properly research them for nomination.

Nobody’s really making money off of this and I’m sure they have other jobs and responsibilities … so the democratic thing to do is leave it up to the people and have them nominate on their own and vote.

I didn’t think I’d even be nominated because I didn’t do a terrible amount of campaigning (one post, then kept it movin)

it’s a setup…there are people in the running who are on the panel…and why in some cases there are 4 sites instead of three?

man only reason why most of those blogs got nominated is because of their large female audience. maybe a female poster on this site might give us a boost???

Hey Mike. I discovered you from your post on the BWA blog. I think you get a popular vote when your folks rep for you. I don’t think your audience went hard enough for you, so the BWA staff didn’t overlook you, man. But good luck and God bless otherwise.
