Nas Says Rappers Should Talk About The Hood More
Seems like Nas feels rappers should calm down the talk about how much money they have.
Over at Contact Music Nas explains How he feels rappers’ content should look like during their careers…
“When you first get into the music business, you’re excited to be there, you want to make records that everybody’s loving.
“But, after you’ve got years in the game, you wanna give people the real side of you, show people some character.
“Life is good; there’s yachts, there’s nice cars, there’s movie roles.
“We overcame… but, in the middle of all that… you can’t forget about the ones that didn’t make it with us. Life is good, but that still doesn’t erase all the horror out here.”
Not surprising to here this stuff from Nas because this is basically how he has conducted himself through his career but does he really think that model can work for every rapper? Today we have many rappers talking about the “horrors” of the hood in first person as if they are still living them.
What do you guys think? Should rappers talk about the streets when they haven’t been there for years? Or should they just rhyme about the rich and famous lives they live now?

I agree with both of yall. We need more content in Hip-Hop. But the sad thing is that its not goin to happen. Hip-Hop can turn a punk ass, broke mawfucka into a thugged out millionare over night. They forget about where they came from, as if they always had money.
Point well taken…step it up fellas!
Truth, all you hear is my hood this my hood that…my cake this my cake that…I rather these dudes step they rap game up WHEN adressin’ it. Agreed Talon, cats bein dime hustlin & as SOON as they get the advance dimes become briKks in the song. Or coke from NOTHIN’…buyin stripes, shits annoys me.
