Pissed Swedish Wrestler Ara Abrahamian Throws Away Bronze Medal
Walks off the medal stand in protest of “corruption” in his final match scoring.
Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian accepted his bronze medal Thursday then stepped off the podium and threw it away. The Armenian-born soar looser tossed his medal on ground and walked off the medal stand in protest of what he called “a corrupt system.”
“I think the semi-final shows that FILA [wrestling’s governing body] does not play fair,” Abrahamian told GlobeandMail.com. “I didn’t deserve to lose. The system is corrupt.”
Abrahamian was apparently pissed about a 3-1 close decision defeat to Italy’s Andrea Minguzzi in the 84-KG Greco-Roman semi-final at the Chinese Agricultural University Gym. Following the match, the volitile Abrahamian screamed at the referee and judges and had to be restrained by a team official before he threw someone in a headlock. And you thought the Olympics was an exhibition of sportsmanship and country patriotism. Be a good sport champ!

If he was a sore looser he wouldn’t have given the bronze challenger a match at all, instead he did so in a proper gentleman fashion.
However he was still convinced in his claim and declined the bronze medal in a protest.
What the hell do you people know if there’s any merit to his claim? And s’posed that there is, wouldn’t he have every right to complain?
Looking at his history he’s not had a problem like this before, so why should he suddenly just be a “bad looser” because that suits your liking?
- It’s funny how they then want to strip him of a medal that he declined. Pure comedy and shows what a sham that the Olympics are.
