Legend Sized Gamble

Posted by E. A. Smith

Barkley, Harris, Bettis knew when to hang it up and secured ‘Legend’ status. Favre, you could of retired, but you stuck around.

Fair or No Fair?  Bret Favre the man with a name that makes no sense is pulling an act that makes no sense.  Leave the indecisivness to rappers and other music artist.  If you ‘choose’, and I use that word loosely, to retire from your profession in a timely fashion then that is what is needed to be done.  What is a timely fashion and who decides when that is?  Well I think it’s fate.  Leave at the top of your game, so that is what is remembered.  I could be wrong, he may do for the Jets what no other can, but he took the job from another who can be the next legend.

Legend, that keeps getting thrown around.  “He should be allowed to get what he wants, he’s a legend.”  If I hear that again, I am going to explode.  Every great legend ended in thier prime.  Jordan retired and went to baseball, if it would of stopped there his image would of been tainted.  He had to come back to secure his ‘Legend’ status and he did.  After his second retirement, he returned is a no-so-good return to the Wizards which put a couple of dents in his armor.  Barkley, Harris, Bettis knew when to hang it up and secured ‘Legend’ status.  Favre, you could of retired from the team in which you made your name, the top of your game and everyone’s respect.  Instead your going to new territory, as your declining and lost the respect of some.  Do yourself and your fans a favor and take another role in the NFL.  You need to hang up your helmet and put on a suit or something, because you are taking a mojor gamble and may go from Legend, to player who overstayed his welcome in a matter of 26 weeks.  I hope I’m wrong.
