Is MF Doom Getting Lazy And Using Stand Ins To Perform For Him?
Fake Dooms are all over the place but who is responsible?
If you are at all familiar with MF Doom than you know he borrows a bit of his on stage persona from the Marvel Comic villain Dr. Doom. One of the things that Dr. Doom is known for in the comic books is using robot duplicates of himself to throw heroes like the Fantastic Four off his trail. Now it appears MF Doom is borrowing that little trick also.
Reports have been around from a long time that fake MF Doom’s would show up at club gigs and events instead of the real deal but donning his well recognized mask. This was usually chalked up as shady promoters feeling that they could get over on paying concert goers without having to pay the real MF to perform.
However at the recent Rock the Bells concert something happened that has people wondering whether it is shady promoters or indeed the real MF Doom that sends the fakes in his place. Never until Rock The Bells has a fake Doom appeared in place of the real one at such a large event. And since the concert was targeted to true hip hop heads it didn’t take the crowd very long to realize they were being hoodwinks.
So it begs the question, would MF Doom do something as dumb as send a fake to such a large event or is MF the victim of identity theft?
