Soulja Boy’s Legal! Is Proud To Give Obama His First Vote
He’s Hollin “OOOOOO!!!”
One’s 18th birthday traditional marks a milestone in their life, a right of passage from adolecence into adulthood. For many of us it marked the greatest year of our life; a symbol of freedom, autonomy and independence from our parents. A time for us to get away from home and go on to college and fend for ourselves. But what does it mean for young rappers who seemingly have had it all already.
For novelty rap sensation, Soulja Boy, turning 18 apparently was important because of his ability to register to vote. The entertainer told MTV that’s he’s looked forward to voting in the Presidential election and has already “researched” the candidates and not surprising he’s on the Barack Obama bandwago.
“I’m pretty much going for Obama,” he said. “[He’s] got my vote.”
But apparently he’s not simply following racial obligations or trends. He claims to back Barack because of his stance on the war in Iraq.
“I’m starting to sweat it,” he said. “The war is crazy right now. My auntie’s over there, so we’d love to see them come back real soon.”
That’s real noble of the kid I guess. There obviously are far more reasons to vote for a particular candidate aside from one foreign policy but its a start. So many misguided voters will vote for the man for reasons even they can not explain.
