Obama’s Camp Denounces Ludacris’ Pro Obama Song
Obama’s people scurry to seperate Barack from Luda’s song about him.
A few days ago I posted a new song from Ludacris in my Excess Bangers post called “Politics”. On the track Luda declares his support for Barack and tries to motivate other to do the same. Well in classic Luda fashion, the track wasn’t without some disses to Obama’s rivals. Luda goes as far as to call Hillary a bitch, picture McCain wheel chair bound and declare that Bush is retarded (though I don’t think anyone would argue that last one).
Of course Obama can not be associated with such lyrics and the following statement was released by the Obama campaign.
“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to,” Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in an e-mail statement. “This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”
This goes back to what i’ve been saying for a while now. Black folk are getting so excited about Obama’s campaign that they are going to cost him the election. I’m as proud as the next black man that someone of our race is close to being president but we all need to realize that sometimes we do more harm than good. Let’s try to keep some of those harsher opinions to ourselves until he clenches the the win in November. Then we can talk all the sh*t we want.

Good Point!!
Then we can talk all the shit you want? Typical black! Who is funding Obama’s campaign? White people are funding it you moron. Over 50% of whites are voting Obama. 2 % of blacks are voting for Mc Cain. Blacks are only voting based on skin color and skin color alone. Blacks are the most racist people on earth. I’ve never heard of an internal civil war between light skinned whites and dark skinned whites, like you people have amongs yourselves.
And one other thing! Why when blacks say whats on their mind, there just keepin it real. When white’s say what’s on their mind their racist.
Why is black power pride, white power is racist?
ALL AMERICAN’S are getting sick of the bullshit race card…. shove it up your ass.
Stop hatin ya had slavery we got the race card thats about as even as we gonna get
Very interesting comment Mr Meyers. I agree, with you with one small exception, all americans SHOULD be sick of the race card. We all more or less have the opportunities to turn lemons into lemonade in this country, no matter your race, height, age and so forth. However, I’m sure you yourself if you have children have raised them to be prejudice in their thinking. Most whites do!! Deny it all you want. Why do I say that? Because I have a lot white friends who have admitted it. If these racist sentiments weren’t being instilled in this nations children as they a raised, we might one day see cures of our social ills.
Mark,
I don’t know what race you are don’t really care. You sounda a little bitter about Obama. Its interesting that you start your comments by disparaging Mike as a “Typical Black.” But Every comment you made (as an individual) attempted to speak on behalf of a larger group…you generalized. Blogging is great because it gives you the opportunity to express YOUR opinions and here at Highbrid Nation we welcome all of them as they often spark interesting debate.
In that same vain I will have to disagree with your generalizations of “Blacks” being the most racist, “Blacks” all subscribing to the “keep it real” philosophy and “All Americans” are getting sick of the race card.
Your argument would have had more credibility if you said WE ALL have prejudice, because that’s true. Keeping it real is more a Hip Hop philosophy and term. Hip Hop apparently unbeknown to you transcends race.
As for your last comment…All Americans are tired of the race card? Why is it now in 2008 that we’re “all” supposed to be tired of the race card when this country PUBLICALLY and OFFICIALLY ENDORSED 300 years of the most blantent race card in the institution of slavery. Let me, them, whoever play whatever card we want cause to be quite frank, you probably own the deck.
…. give me a minute…
Damn Juan, I was bout to get busy on this guy but you pretty much aired him out, real classy sun. (standing ovation). I dont even know how this man decided to take it there. I will say this, in 2008 its hard for me to imagine what my ancestors went thru. Lets face it, the scar of slavery will never heal. Whites need to except that. Yes some of us are bitter, some of are prejudice towards whites. You fucking right some of us are voting for Obama because he’s black, we all know thats true. Whites have run this country forever, look at us today. Gas is sky high, the economy is fucked, our Armed Forces are spread thin, almost 70% of our great nation disapproves of the president. Race Card? Who made the race card?!! Get real, sun. Look in the mirror. Ask your parents how “niggers” were treated. Thats why we want a Black President. It shows that the country has grown. It shows blacks that we can do anything we put our mind to….I gotta stop
What i find amusing is in the past many presidents have used their war history to secure military votes or their farming background, or industrial background to relate to the working class etc. etc. to get voters to vote for them. It’s a common ground issue. One thing for certain is Black people, usually rally together due to slavery. So of course some Blacks(and i do feel the majority) of them will vote with OBAMA.
you cannot be upset with us for that.
Too bad he didn’t return to further defend himself. I would have loved to see what he had to say in response. I love debate.
