Director Confirms “I Am Legend” Prequel In The Works
Francis Lawrence speaks about the project at Comic-Con event.
Digital Spy is reporting that Francis Lawrence, director of “I Am Legend” is working on a PREQUEL to the 2007 Will Smith summer blockbuster.
“We’re trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel,” the filmmaker said at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
According to Lawrence, Will Smith’s character Dr. Robert Neville would be slated to return but no confirmation of that yet from the actors camp.
Lawrence did say that filming the movie should prove to be a lot less challenging. “The first time you go out there and shut down 6th Avenue, it’s like, ‘How are we going to do this day after day after day?’ But by the end, it’s just like you know how to do it,” he said.”You got the PAs who know how to shut it down, how to let the traffic through in between set-ups and you just sort of get the routine down, so that’s not the issue.”
Honestly…I wasn’t impressed enough with the first one to feel it warranted me wanting to know more about the story. I didn’t really get it. I think sometimes these movies are released to show off the technological advancements in film making or in this case the unprecedented ability for the film makers to shut down New York City. As far as entertainment value goes…It was decent at best.

I did enjoy the film but i can’t say im keen to find out or or see anymore about it. One legend was enough for me……
You should check out Mega Man with Charlton Heston.
i’ll go , will’s my man
denzel> will> jackson> everybody else
I liked the movie, and if done right a prequel would be proper. The scenes they showed during the movie to preview what happened was a nice teaser.
